Decided to dig into the old cassette archives again. This time, pulled out a freestyle I recorded off the radio in 1996 (I think?). This one comes from Angie Martinez’s Hot 97 show (when Hip-Hop actually did live there).
The freestyle features Method Man in his prime, along with a young up and comer Lounge Lo. For those that don’t know, Lo was a member of the Wu-Affiliated group Otherized F.A.M. and also younger brother to Cappadonna. Listen to the 2 as they trade verses over Gza’s “Shadow Boxing“.
